I'm so lucky to belong to this cute family!! This is our second shoot, the first one was a disaster so we made everyone dress up again a month later to retake it. Seriously my favorite thing was watching my babies sleep just so I could catch their precious smiles while they dream. We lucked out and caught this sweet smile of "Lady E" while she was sleeping!! LOVE IT!!!

My cousin and her sister in law let me borrow their babies last week for a couple hours. I had so much fun and learned a ton in the process! I am so excited about these shoots that I've decided to offer a special for January.

I know I'm a couple months late posting this but I still was excited and wanted to share. My sweet friend Lily got married in September so we met about a month before to take her engagements. I designed thier invites in both spanish and english. She had them printed with the words as they are on the left with the images on the right one each for english or spanish. I have to say there is something about shooting pictures at the Bountiful Temple that I just love. Everything seems to run so smoothly and it's one of the few places photographers are all kind and conscientious of each other. I am able to do what I love in such a beautiful place and that makes me happy!!

I spotted this butterfly on the grass and the Brides Dad picked it up and placed it on her hand. I was able to get this shot just before it flew away.

I played around combining a couple images and this is the fun outcome I came up with.

While I was taking pictures of my niece and her friends, my nephew and his girlfriend wanted "Engagements" taken to play a trick on their friends and family. So, that's what we did. I was glad they came since I had so much fun taking them. I designed an invite for their pretend wedding that was supposed to take place just a couple days before he turned 18!! It was hilarious!!!

I am loving the beautiful sunsets we've been having lately!!! Tuesday night we had this one....

and then last night this is what I saw from my backyard!!!

I wasn't able to get a full shot of the whole rainbow, or two rainbows I should say, because they were so big. My shed was in the way but the rainbow stretched clear acrossed the sky and was AMAZING!!!!!!

My little family and I adventured outside today to get some sun.... finally! We've all been going crazy inside so it was great to breathe some fresh (slightly warm) air!!! We wandered around with our guns scoping out targets (i.e. BIRDS) to shoot. K. walks around the house all day saying "I wanna shoot buurds"!!! I tagged along to take some pictures so my brain doesn't explode from lack of oxygen being stuck inside. I grabbed a shot of Grandpa's tools in the shed. I remember Caden's little sister had taken one similar to this and I loved it. The horses in the corral were all lined up perfect for me so I tried to catch it but they moved before I got the angle I wanted. Oh well, this one turned out decent enough. My little cowboy looks like he was peeing on the garage but I promise he wasn't. He was using the butt of his gun to "squish buugs". Thank goodness for a wonderful WARM day!!!

Baby K - Time Flies!!!

I can't believe it's been almost six weeks since my last post!!! How time flies!!! I've been busy entertaining this little man the best I can. I'm SOOO ready for some warm weather so we can play outside without freezing to death! Not only that, I'm ready to take some pictures!!!!!! I love outdoor shoots and I'm so excited to get back out there and get busy!

I couldn't pick which one I liked best out of these two so the solution was to post both of them.

I went today to take pictures of my friends' family and I couldn't wait to edit them. We all froze nearly to death trying to survive the cold but it was completely worth it!! We got one awesome family shot and I didn't even have to switch heads from another image so both kids looked good! AMAZING!!!

A few weeks ago my cousin and I traded talents and snapped some photos of eachother. She needed headshots for work and I just wanted a picture to put on my blog. I played around and edited a little... Thanks Mandy!!!

Then we went on Saturday to have our family pictures taken. I had my friend set up to push the button and make the kids look and smile but she had an emergency and couldn't make (hope everything is OK Jen!!!). Luckily Heidi, my cousin, was available to come last minute (Thanks Heidi)!! I combined two images and we have one great family picture... even though there's still 5 things I would change on it if I could!!!!! It's SO hard being a control freak and not being able to see the picture as it's taken because I have to be in it! Hopefully I'll get over it soon so I don't drive my in-laws crazy...sorry everyone!

Grandma & Grandpa came for a new picture too. I snapped a few of them in the barn so they wouldn't freeze to death. These are my two favorites! Thanks everyone for being so patient with me this weekend!

I had an awesome time at Wheeler Farm a couple weekends ago with this family! It was my first time shooting there so I wasn't too familiar with locations but that didn't stop us! This place was amazing! Everywhere we turned was a beautiful backdrop... the only problem was there were a TON of people. Everyone was pretty respectful to stay out of the way since there were a million photographers shooting at all angles. It took me forever to get these pictures edited so I'm REALLY SORRY Miki! I hope you will forgive me!

W. Reunion

My little family and I went to Zion Ponderosa this last weekend for a family reunion. I've been working on action photography as well as getting more interesting shots of people. I loved these ones!!!

My hubby took us for a little drive Sunday morning before we left so I could get at least a few shots of the scenery before we loaded up for home.

I have had the hardest time getting back into life since I've been home. I have a few shoots to edit and have only been able to do a few images at a time. K. won't let me be in my office for more than a couple minutes and I haven't even tried to work on them with C. here too. So, those of you waiting for your pictures... I'm so sorry. I have all day tomorrow... I'll get them done I promise!!!!

Amazing State of Utah

I absolutely LOVE where I live!!! This was the sunrise Saturday morning on my way to Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake. I stopped in the middle of the road and took a few shots as I headed out of my little farm community. No where else would I be able to stop at 9 am and have no one drive by me to get mad for stopping!!!

Here's my sister-in-law's family pics I took a couple weeks ago. It was a bit of a challenge because I had no one to make them laugh and look at the camera. After bribing them with smarties we were able to get some cute shots!!

I took A LOT of family shots and this is the only one that both kids were smiling AND looking at the camera. It was SOO funny!!

I'm just glad they are related to me and pretty much stuck forever. They're going to have to let me keep trying for the perfect shot, whether they like it or not! (LOL)!

Baby Isaac turned One a couple months ago and I've been a slacker at getting them posted. I, of course, took them to my spot on the tracks and he LOVED the rocks. In fact, I couldn't get him to look at me at all. I tried to get a shot of him with his parents in the back but he wasn't having it.

I did manage to get a couple smiles out of him though so the shoot wasn't completely unsuccesful. Aren't they such a cute little family!!??!??!

My cute neighbors had their baby over a month before she was due. She weighed 3 lbs 7 oz and were able to bring her home just over a week ago. They brought her over Saturday for a shoot... I loved this one. She's so tiny I really felt like I was going to break her!!!

I am so far behind right now I don't know where to begin. I stayed up late last night to edit a couple shoots because I'm so excited about them. I had a lot of fun with my friends cute little family. It was a bit of a challenge trying to get them all looking at the camera, let alone smiling. Who can blame them though with all those cool rocks to collect???
Yes, I realize how obsessed I am with this location but I just can't help myself!!! It's beautiful!!!

I had the opportunity last week to take some pictures of my cute neighbors!! Jenny is an incredible photographer so we made a trade... she took some of my little family and I took some of hers. It was one of the most fun I have EVER had taking pictures!!! I felt like I was just out hangin' with the neighbors instead of doing a job. I absolutely LOVE the pics she took of us!!! You'll have to check out her blog, PHOTOGRAPHY BY JENNY MARTINEZ, to see them though!! I was pretty nervous to show hers to her because I feel completely inadequate as a photographer sitting next to her!!! Especially after I took her pictures I felt like there were a million things I messed up on that I don't normally screw up!! Nevertheless... Here's a peek at hers!!!

I went to Beus Park this last weekend for an Engagement Session. They were the cutest family!! I tried a couple things that I haven't done before so I'm glad I got to practice a little more with my creativity!

Weber County Queen Contest

I went today to the fairgrounds to watch my cousin's daughter in the Queen Contest today. It was quite an event! The arena was really dark so my flash was trying it's best but they just didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. She, on the other hand, got 1st attendant!!!! Congratulations Myka!!!!

Right before she was let out into the arena for the riding part of the competition. Isn't she such a cutie!!!!

This one her face and hat were in focus but everything else was blurry. I think it still looks alright though, kindof an action shot!?!?!?

Here she is stopped in front of the judges to answer a question. Pretty horse! I'm so glad that I was able to go see her compete, she did an awesome job!

I've been pretty busy thanks to my friend Dulse! She's spread the word and given me some more business! I'm excited because I've been able to expand my invitation designs. It's been fun creating this invitation for an upcoming Quinceañera. I filled in the date and time with the words date and time so it's not posted for everyone to see... that's why it looks a little different. Good luck Veronica, it's been fun working with you!

I got to take pictures of a new Bishopric in Perry last week. My sister-in-law met me at Sherwood Hills to swap a few things (including a new prop I'm SOOO excited to use). I couldn't pass up this perfect opportunity to snap a few pictures of the beautiful scenery. I just wish I had been there 10 minutes sooner to get better shots before the sun was gone! This one turned out alright though.

This sweet little girl absolutely hates me (picture below is what she did whenever I walked towards her)! Luckily her Mom brought her three siblings to make her laugh... as long as I stayed away from her. We got her to laugh/smile when she would throw the ball, we would clap. Since then, my little boy has been throwing the ball around the house and clapping for himself... love it!!!!!
I'm still not that great at using the lights so I'm grateful to everyone for trusting in me and letting me practice... I WILL GET BETTER!!! More posts to come, busy weekend!!
